Don't mess with Amazon. The retailer is apparently in another contract dispute, this time, with Disney. The Wall Street Journal reports it has stopped accepting pre-orders of some Disney movies like "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." But we've seen this movie before. This comes amid Amazon's current fight with Hachette over pricing of e-books. Amazon restricted sales of some Hachette titles after the French publisher refused to agree to Amazon's demand to cut e-book prices to under $10. That spat escalated on Sunday when Stephen King and Paul Auster joined more than 900 fellow writers in a New York Times ad. They criticized Amazon's move against Hachette and suggested people write CEO Jeff Bezos by publishing his email address. Amazon shot back with a message on its website containing the email address of Bezos' counterpart. But Amazon's reply backfired. The New York Times pointed out that Amazon had incorrectly cited author George Orwell in its defense. If there's one thing Orwell was against, it was the denial of truth. Truth be told, investors pushed up Amazon stock in early trading, even more than they did that of Disney. Look for more chapters to come.
