The Teen Choice Awards were handed out in Los Angeles and Demi Lovato kicked off the evening with her hit "Really Don't Care." The pop star took home trophies for choice summer song and choice female summer music star. Other big winners at the ceremony included Ariana Grande who won choice female artist and Jason Derulo who was named choice male summer music star and closed the show with a performance of his hit song, "Talk Dirty."
Mickey Rourke has generated controversy after wearing a T-shirt with an image depicting Russia's President Vladimir Putin. The actor was at a Moscow department store in Red Square to buy the shirt and reportedly told local media that he thought Putin was "a good guy" - this at a time when the international community has been increasingly critical of the Russian president.
In the same boat, Steven Seagal performed in the Crimean Peninsula - which Russia annexed from Ukraine in March. The actor, who calls himself a personal friend of Putin's, said that he hoped his performance would help to bring Russians and Americans together.
The return of the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" kicked up 65 million in ticket sales at U.S. and Canadian movie theaters over the weekend, winning a box office battle with Marvel's hit "Guardians of the Galaxy." "Guardians," which ruled the box office universe a week ago with a record opening for August, collected $41.5 million during its second weekend.
