Gamescom gets ready to play

The world's largest trade fair for interactive games and entertainment, the Gamescom in Cologne, lures customers with new version of games, news and background information about the gaming world. Tara Cleary reports.

The German city of Cologne is readying for the world's largest trade fair for interactive games and entertainment, Gamescom. And eagerly anticipated this year are Microsoft's latest version of its gaming console, Xbox One, as well as new editions of video games 'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare' and 'Halo'. 343 Industries' general manager, Bonnie Ross. SOUNDBITE: Bonnie Ross, general manager, 343 Industries, makers of 'Halo', saying (English): "Halo is set in a rich and deep universe, filled with stories and characters. It is a universe that encourages exploration in our games, our novels, our comics, our live action." Fans will be treated to a hands-on previews of the latest game versions, including 'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare', says its co-founder, Michael Condrey. SOUNDBITE: Michael Condrey, co-founder of video game, 'Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare', saying (English): "Last night we unveiled all new exo-movement, exo-bilities, exo-perks, new weapon classes, gear and so much more. We've made the most fundamental change to the player movement set to 'Call of Duty' in ten years." Gamescom is in its 6th year and the games will begin for the public on Thursday.
