ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Coast Guard crew members from Cape May, New Nersey, rescued an 800-pound leatherback turtle over the weekend off the coast of South Jersey. The turtle was entangled in fishing gear about 30 miles offshore on Saturday (August 9). Fishermen notified the Coast Guard, which arrived and untangled the turtle with the help of the Marine Mammal Stranding Center. The turtle swam away without any noticable injuries after the crews freed it.
