Authorities have arrested two people in connection with the alleged kidnapping of two young Amish sisters in upstate New York. 39-year-old Stephen Howells and 25-year-old Nicole Vaisey are in custody, each charged with two counts of kidnapping. A neighbor describes the pair as boyfriend and girlfriend and says three children lived with them. The suspects are accused of abducting 12-year-old Fannie Miller and her 6-year-old sister Delila from their family farm stand on Wednesday. They were returned home safely a day after their disappearance. SOUNDBITE: ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE KEVIN WELLS, SAYING: "The girls were strong. They were able to verbalize to the investigators some different facts about their time in captivity." Officials say the abductors dropped them off in front of a stranger's home. The man living inside recognized the missing girls and drove them back to their family farm. Authorities have not discussed a motive in the girls' kidnapping.
