The Pentagon releases videos it says shows airstrikes by the U.S. military against Islamic State fighters near Mosul Dam. In recent weeks, Islamic State militants seized large parts of northern Iraq, including the dam. The airstrikes, the U.S. says, are intended to protect U.S. personnel and facilities. Meanwhile, some 300 Yazidis are trying to get out of the country. They're trying to flee for Turkey. But were stopped in by Kurdish security forces who blocked their access to the border. Protesters say they want out more than anything else. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) YAZIDI YOUNG MAN, BASHAR ADEL, SAYING: "We want to leave Iraq. We do not want Iraq. None of us want Iraq. The Sheikhs, the women, the children. None of them want Iraq. We want to get out of Iraq." (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) YAZIDI YOUNG WOMAN, AMINA KHAN, SAYING: "We do not want Iraq. We want our rights. Iraq has sold us out. I do not want Iraq. I want our rights. All the people in Sinjar died. All the Yazidi people were killed or kidnapped and women were taken." Many of the Yazidis were forced out of their homes in Singar, fleeing Islamic State militants who threatened to kill them. Tens of thousands are stranded here in the city of Dohuk, where they are taking to schools and bridges for shelter. They rely on aid air drops from donor nations, and their fight for religious freedom is far from over. Still no telling where they may end up.
