California's Junction Fire spreading, threatening homes

Residents in Madera County are taking their belongings, closing up shop and getting out.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) SYDNEY LORENZANA, RESIDENT, SAYING:
"All of the businesses have been getting calls to close down. So I mean we're just waiting for further instructions."
The Junction Fire that started Monday is spreading and threatening some 500 homes near Oakhurst.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) HANK HALE, HOMEOWNER, SAYING:
"I mean it's right there, but we still have a little bit."
More than 600 firefighters are battling the blaze, which has burned up to 1,200 acres.
So far authorities have asked 13,000 people to evacuate.
Firefighters were hoping better conditions Tuesday would help them contain the fire.
