ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Former U.S. President George W. Bush has taken the "Ice Bucket Challenge" which aims to raise money and awareness for ALS. Bush posted video evidence of his soaking on Facebook. After getting dumped with a bucket of cold water, Bush dared former U.S. President Bill Clinton to do the same. "Yesterday was Bill's birthday and my gift to Bill is a bucket of cold water," Bush said in his Facebook video, after being drenched by his wife, former First Lady Laura Bush. The initiative involves people posting video of themselves being drenched in ice water and challenging others to also take the plunge. The ice bucket challenge has gone viral on the Internet and has included celebrities and other high profile figures. ALS, often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease," affects the function of nerves and muscles and is estimated to impact as many as 30,000 Americans at any given time, according the the ALS website which initiated the ice bucket challenge earlier this month. The website says it has received more than $30 million compared to less than $2 million raised during the same period last year.
