With the 66th annual Emmy Awards only five days away, this year's host Seth Meyers was at Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre on Wednesday (August 20) to officially roll out the red carpet. Meyers, along with producers of the famed broadcast, kicked open the carpet that will greet television's biggest stars as they arrive for the awards on Monday (August 25).
This year's show sees heavy competition from the online world - with movie-streaming service Netflix racking up 31 nominations.
SOUNDBITE Seth Meyers saying (English):
"I think it's something we're going to address over the course of the show. I think that's one of the bigger stories. It's an exciting time for TV. Mostly because I think people always thought that if you could get it via the internet it would be a lower quality, and we're finding out it's not, so it'll be a good night for them."
HBO's drama "True Detective" is also hot in the running this year with 12 nods, as well as its medieval fan favorite "Game of Thrones" which racked up 19 nominations.
