ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)
A house fire broke out in small community about an hour and a half northeast of Indianapolis Thursday (August 22) overnight but heavy flooding prevented firefighters from reaching the blaze.
The fire in Blackford County scorched the home and even spread to a car and boat alongside one of the buildings.
Firefighters could be seen from the road trying to extinguish the flames, but the floods made it impossible to get anywhere near.
The area had received about 10 inches of rain overnight.
