Floodwaters in Washington state are washing out everything in its path. On Highway 153, much of the road has collapsed. (SOUNDBITE) (English) DAVID SARAZIN, LOCAL RESIDENT, SAYING: "It's pretty crazy." The conditions were made worse with land recently scorched by wildfires. With nothing to hold down the hillside, this home was swept away. The owner was not there, but the neighbors were. (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNNAMED RESIDENT SAYING: "All of a sudden a whole wall of water, probably as tall as I was, came in. It was really black, full of all kinds of stuff, and it knocked me - knocked me under water." Neighbors have been shoveling dirt and salvaging what they can -- even though there's not much hope. (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNNAMED RESIDENT SAYING: "This whole last month has been unbelievable. It's just like every day we wake up and think oh, I wonder what's going to happen today." And trying to avoid what's next. (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNNAMED RESIDENT SAYING: "We're seeing the forecast and decided pretty much it's time to leave." Leaving a home and memories behind.
