For 22 shows dubbed "Before the Dawn," Kate Bush returns to London's Hammersmith Apollo. Bush mixed renditions of her biggest hits with two interpretations of her longer conceptual works to delight the majority of her fans who had waited 35 years for the British singer and songwriter to return to the stage. SOUNDBITE: unknown fan, saying (English): "She started off just half a dozen songs and it just seems to be she was just standing there, singing with a fantastic voice, and that was going to be it, and then suddenly it just went into a surreal world, something really special. Brilliant. Loved it." SOUNDBITE: unknown fan, saying (English): "It's a really sort of conventional opening and then it goes into a more sort of theatrical presentation later on which just exceeded my expectations." However, the reaction was not wholly positive. SOUNDBITE: unknown fan, saying (English): ''Awful. Disappointing. Irrelevant. If you're a hardcore fan, great - if you're not a hardcore fan don't bother. It cost me a lot of money, rubbish. There was about three relevant songs. I don't know if it was some conceptual, interpretive thing, I didn't get it - most of the people around me didn't get it." A star-studded crowd turned out for the occasion with guests including Holly Johnson and Lily Allen.
