The Justice Department is lauching a civil rights investigation into the Ferguson Police Department. The probe stems from last month's shooting death of Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager shot by a white Ferguson police officer. The investigation will look into how the police department operates including patterns of arrest and past incidents involving alleged use of force by police. The Justice Department has already begun a separate civil rights investigation into the shooting death of Brown. Police in Ferguson came under sharp criticism for arresting protesters and using heavy-handed tactics and military gear during demonstrations following Brown's death.
