They were one of the most iconic bands of the 1980s. Their New Romantic style and classic songs helped define the era. And now Spandau Ballet are bringing out a documentary showing the highs and lows of their careers. The five bandmates were on the red carpet for the European premiere of 'Soul Boys of the Western World'. It combines newsreel footage and self-shot material to show their rise through the music scene. Spandau Ballet were part of the Blitz Club scene in London - which was home of the New Romantic movement. Soundbite, Spandau Ballet Performer, Martin Kemp, saying (English): "Yeah, I mean there's been a lot talked about it in the past, you know, over the years, but for us at the time it was about, I suppose it was about hedonism, wasn't it? Just about making the most of every day and just having a good time with it." The band's hits like 'True' and 'Gold' made it to number one in the charts. But behind the music there were arguments - and a bitter falling out led to a court battle over royalties. The bad feeling looks to be gone now and Spandau Ballet's lead singer says he's just glad their back together. Soundbite, Spandau Ballet Performer, Tony Hadley, saying (English): "We all went off and did our solo careers and then when we did come back together in 2009 I think we were a stronger unit for it. And my thing is, if I'm honest, I'm just glad we managed to finally see sense and over a beer shake hands and see that there was a possible future together." So, with the band now on good terms it looks like these fans might be seeing more Spandau Ballet in future. 'Soul Boys of the Western World' is released on October 3rd.
