Obamacare enters new phase over the weekend with little fanfare

President Obama's plan to extend private health coverage to the uninsured enters a new uncertain phase as open enrollment for the Affordable Care Act begins. Linda So reports.

President Obama used his weekly address to pitch his signature healthcare law. He reminded Americans that the 2015 open enrollment period for insurance purchased through the Affordable Care Act begins on Saturday. The government-backed online insurance marketplaces opened their 2015 plans to millions of potential enrollees overnight. The HealthCare.gov website was plagued with technical glitches a year ago but appeared to be working smoothly during its weekend relaunch. But there may be a rocky road ahead as Republicans who will take control of Congress in January have said they are committed to dismantling the healthcare law.
