ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Newly elected members of the House of Representatives for the 114th Congress lined up for the ceremonial group photo on Tuesday (November 18), just two weeks after the Republican Party's sweeping midterm victories in both the House and Senate. The Republican Party won control of the U.S. Senate taking more than the six Democratic-held seats needed to obtain the 51 required for a majority and expanded their majority in the House of Representatives, with a net gain of at least eight seats. Republicans are now in full control of both houses of Congress for the first time since 2006, and for the first time in the presidency of Barack Obama. In addition, the number of seats held by women in Congress reached 100 for the first time in U.S. history.
