New Yorker J. Van Buren will be in Philadelphia this Thanksgiving. She's packing her laptop -- a must have for this online shopper who WON"T be battling crowds this year for Black Friday deals. SOUNDBITE: J. VAN BUREN, ONLINE SHOPPER, SAYING: "I will not be going to any stores for their sale; I will be shopping online. That's easier" The day AFTER Thanksgiving, and Cyber Monday a few days later, are usually considered the best days for finding deals. But some experts say, for the very best prices, do your shopping on Thanksgiving Day itself. SOUNDBITE: TAMARA GAFFNEY, ADOBE SYSTEMS, SAYING: "The data indicates that Thursday is going to be the lowest price day of the entire year on average." Analyst Tamara Gaffney crunched the numbers for online shopping. She found that items cost 24% less on average during Thanksgiving Day, compared to 23 percent less on Black Friday and just 20% in discounts on Cyber Monday. And then there's this... SOUNDBITE: TAMARA GAFFNEY, ADOBE SYSTEMS, SAYING: "By the time we get to Cyber Monday, there are 5 times more out of stock situations." That's especially true for the season's hottest items. This year, that includes the iPhone 6 for adults, and for the kids, anything related to the Disney hit "Frozen." SOUNDBITE: VAN BUREN, ONLINE SHOPPER, SAYING: "There's a frozen coat, that's perfect for his little cousin- she loves loves that!" So on this Thanksgiving Day, savvy shoppers may want to rethink the crowds of Black Friday and spend some more time on their computers instead.
