New York's Empire State Building was lit up all in blue Saturday night. In honor of the two NYPD officers killed in Brooklyn last week. The funeral of one officer on Saturday, 40-year-old Rafael Ramos, may have been the largest ever in the force's history. As many as 25,000 uniformed police from across the country were thought to have been there, to pay tribute to their fallen officer. Ramos and his partner were killed by a man who wanted to avenge the shooting deaths of unarmed black men by police. Their deaths have rallied police forces across the country, beleaguered by months of anti-police protests and accusations of racist policing tactics. But New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, speaking at Saturday's funeral, said the city's police force hails from more than 50 nations representing 64 languages. And Vice President Joe Biden said the diversity of the NYPD, which only a few decades ago was almost entirely white, can show the rest of the nation how to "bridge any divide".
