ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) President Obama say the U.S. and its allies are committed to fighting violent extremists and says the U.S. will continue its efforts to degrade Islamic State in Syria. In a joint news conference with British Prime Minister David Cameron, Obama said the situation in Syria has given opportunity for foreign fighters to enter and leave the country. "As ISIL has moved forward, we've been very active in degrading their capabilities inside Syria," said Obama. Obama says he does not consider the rise of violent extremism to be an existential threat. He says it will be defeated. "This is a problem that causes great heartache and tragedy and destruction but it is one that ultimately we're gonna defeat."
