Romney 'seriously considering' 2016 White House bid

Mitt Romney, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee says he is giving ''serious consideration'' to his near-term future, his latest signal that he is gearing up for another White House run. Linda So reports.

Could the third time be a charm for Mitt Romney? Speaking at the Republican National Committee's winter meeting in San Diego, the 2012 Republican presidential nominee said he was giving "serious consideration" to a 2016 White House bid. SOUNDBITE: MITT ROMNEY, 2012 REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE, SAYING: "There is some speculation whether I am about to embark on a political endeavor which I have been previously unsuccessful, let me state unequivocally that I have no intention of running for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts." Romney would be making his third presidential bid should he choose to run again. He ran in 2008 but lost the nomination to Senator John McCain. SOUNDBITE: MITT ROMNEY, 2012 REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE, SAYING: "I should tell you in the last few days, the most frequent question I get is what does Ann think about all of this? She believes people get better with experience." The crowd cheered when Romney mentioned the 2016 race. SOUNDBITE: MITT ROMNEY, 2012 REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL NOMINEE, SAYING: "Ann Romney and I are going to be fighting for our nominee because the American people deserve it and we are going to make it happen." But some Republicans are not as enthusiastic about another Romney run. Some say he's not the strongest choice in 2016 in a race that could see Hillary Clinton as the Democratic nominee.
