At least seven dead in Bangladesh bus bombing

At least seven people have been killed and others injured after opposition protesters hurl petrol bombs at a bus in Bangladesh. Julie Noce reports.

Seven people were killed after opposition activists threw petrol bombs at a bus traveling to capital Dhaka on Tuesday. The protesters - who want Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to step down- were trying to enforce a transportation boycott. At least sixteen people were injured- some critically- and are receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. The country's ruling party has condemned the attack. The opposition was not available for comment- but have routinely rejected accusations of violence. At least 51 people have been killed in political violence over the past month.
