Fireworks over Yemen's capital Sanaa... ...after the dominant Houthi movement dissolves parliament and vows to form a new interim assembly and government. Yemen has been in political limbo since the president and prime minister resigned last month... ...after the Shi'ite Houthis seized the presidential palace. Hundreds of demonstrators in the south-western city of Taiz say they reject the Houthi takeover. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) PROTESTER, SADEQ AHMED ALI, SAYING: "We took to the streets today to express our refusal of the unconstitutional announcement made by the Houthi militias. This protest is the beginning of a new revolution...to liberate Yemen from this gang." The country's instability has drawn international concern -- It's fighting one of the most formidable branches of al Qaeda with the help of U.S. drone strikes and borders top world oil exporter Saudi Arabia. The Houthis had set a Wednesday deadline to reach an agreement with political factions... ...or else said they would impose their own solution.
