So, it's official. Australia will be performing at Eurovision this year. They're not the most obvious choice for a music competition involving acts from Europe - but the Australians are getting a special, one-off invitation to this year's contest in Vienna as Eurovision celebrates its 60th anniversary. In all that time there's been a few Australians on the show. Gina G was the UK's act at Eurovision 96 and 'Grease' star Olivia Newton-John also sang for the UK in 1974. The Australian broadcaster SBS has shown the contest for many years... And there was even an Australian themed performance during the interval of the contest last year. Eurovision is a hugely popular show and draws in an estimated 180million viewers every year - so there's going to be lots of people watching this year's surprise entrants. But can the home of pop stars like Kylie Minogue do what Conchita Wurst did last year and sing their way to glory at Eurovision? We'll find out at the Grand Final on May 23rd.
