African migrants cling to a border fence separating Morocco from Spain. They won't back down. Nearly 100 people tried climbing the fence. Around 15 held fast, sitting on the fence for more than five hours. Hundreds of hopeful migrants camp out for weeks and months in Moroccan territory, preparing to attempt to climb the fences or swim along the coast. Spain has built new, higher fences and lined them with razor wire. But several thousand still manage to make the crossing every year-- part of a wave of migration to hit Europe amid turmoil on the African continents and the Middle East.
