Likely Republican presidential contender Jeb Bush marked himself as "Hispanic" on a 2009 voter registration application according to The New York Times. The newspaper reported that the circle marked "Hispanic" on the form was checked. The next circle said "White, not Hispanic" and was not checked. On Twitter Bush responded to his son calling him an "honorary" Latino saying: "My mistake! Don't think I've fooled anyone!" A Bush spokeswoman said it was unclear how the error was made, adding, "The governor's family certainly got a good laugh out of it." Bush, who speaks fluent Spanish and whose wife, Columba, is Mexican-born, had widespread support among Hispanic voters during his two terms as Florida governor.
