ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry welcomed Greece's Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias to Washington on Monday (April 20), where the economy and "challenges of terrorism and counter-terrorism" dominated talks. "We are very aware of the sacrifices that the people of Greece have been called on to make because of the challenges of the economy," Kerry said during a news conference with Kotzias at the U.S. Department of State. "We're confident about Greece's ability -- with reforms and with effort -- to be able to chart a new course ahead," he added. Athens' newly-elected government of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has been stuck in negotiations with its euro zone partners and the International Monetary Fund over economic reforms required by its lenders to unlock remaining bailout funds. Earlier on Monday, the IMF's European head told a German newspaper that talks have gained some momentum but remained a long way from the finish line.
