Officials say it's a struggle for this Libyan detention center to cope with an influx of migrants... hosting around 1000 of them from sub-Saharan Africa, Sunday. This, after a boat carrying hundreds of people capsized in the Mediterranean. Some 700 migrants are feared to have drowned south of the Italian island of Lampedusa. Italian and foreign ships worked into the night to find possible survivors.... hoping to increase the number of 28 confirmed rescues. But Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi says search and rescue missions alone are not sufficient enough to save lives. He called for an international effort to stop human trafficking, and stop migrant boats from leaving Libya. (SOUNDBITE) (Italian) ITALIAN PRIME MINISTER MATTEO RENZI SAYING: "Let me say that we are doing everything we can to find the traffickers responsible for this deadly crossing." If the death toll of this latest disaster is confirmed, authorities say a staggering 1500 people will have died this year, in their quest to reach Europe.
