At 115 years old, Jeralean Talley is the world's oldest-known living person. Surrounded by family at her home near Detroit, Jeralean sits with her great-great-grandson, enjoying McDonald's apple pies. She credits her faith for her longevity. (SOUNDBITE) (English) JERALEAN TALLEY, WORLD'S OLDEST-KNOWN LIVING PERSON, SAYING: "Everything comes from above. Everything just comes from above." Jeralean's daughter Thelma says her mother has lived through so much since her birth in 1899 - two world wars, a depression and, MOST remarkably to her, the election of an African-American President. (SOUNDBITE) (English) THELMA HOLLOWAY, TALLEY'S DAUGHTER, SAYING: "It's amazing. I never had no thoughts about nothing like this. And then she got a chance to be here and see a black president and all that. That's history. She had no idea about that, and neither did I." Talley will celebrate her 116th birthday on May 23. The family plans to take her out to dinner and indulge a shared sweet tooth with birthday cake.
