Boxer and local hero Manny Pacquiao is welcomed home to Manila with a parade through the streets after losing his welterweight title fight to American Floyd Mayweather Jr. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao was given a hero's welcome in Manila's business district on Wednesday (May 13), a week after losing his WBO welterweight title against Floyd Mayweather Jr. Hundreds of fans packed outside commercial establishments and took photos of Pacquiao as he tossed souvenir shirts to the crowd from a float. Pacquiao was wearing a shoulder sling on his right side on his return to Manila. He underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder last week, He injured his shoulder while preparing for the bout with Mayweather. His surgeon says he expects Pacquaio to fully recover. Despite losing to Mayweather, some fans were still eager to see the Filipino boxer get back into the ring. Others wanted Pacquiao to consider a different career. "He should look into politics rather than boxing. He should take a rest because our Nation's Fist is having difficulties. He's done his job. For us, he's already our hero," said village official Jesus Roblas. Pacquiao, a sitting member of Congress, is regarded in the Philippines as a national idol, earning him the nickname Pambansang Kamao (Nation's Fist).
