It began with a peaceful demonstration...but ended in a hail of bullets and teargas, police breaking up yet another anti-government protest. Witnesses say one demonstrator was wounded and four others arrested in the clashes. The troops also fired teargas into neighborhoods roiled by unrest. The demonstrators are angry at the failure of African leaders to persuade Burundian President Pierre Nkurunziza not to run for a third term in office. They say it's a violation of the constitution, but the president says he will not change his mind. Residents accuse the soldiers of deliberately firing the canisters into homes, in order to set the buildings on fire. And with the political stalemate showing no signs of easing, it's feared the violence can only get worse.
