ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Some 447 migrants were brought into the Sicilian port of Pozzallo on Tuesday (June 9) after being rescued at sea by the Italian coastguard. The rescue was carried out on Monday (June 8) after the coastguard picked up the migrants from three different vessels. The migrants will probably all be moved onto another part of Italy as the holding centres nearest the port are virtually at saturation point. Some 5,900 migrants were plucked from rickety boats at the weekend as they made the perilous sea crossing for North Africa to Europe and thousands more are believed to be waiting in Libya to make their journey. UNHCR said on Tuesday that about 100,000 migrants have arrived in Greece and Italy so far in 2015.
