STORY: Beachgoers were lounging in the Tunisian resort town of Sousse when at least one gunman opened fire. Many of the victims were foreign tourists. Police killed one attacker - another was reportedly on the loose. Sousse is one of Tunisia's most popular beach resorts, drawing visitors from Europe and neighboring North African countries. Tunisia has been on high alert since March when Islamist militants gunned down a group of foreign tourists at the Bardo museum in Tunis. Despite its relatively peaceful democratic transition since 2011, Tunisia has seen the rise of hardline Islamist movements.
