The Greek economy hangs in the balance as euro zone ministers prepare for negotiations. Julie Noce reports.

Greeks remain uncertain over the fate of their economy as euro zone finance ministers prepare to meet with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras for an emergency summit in Brussels later in the day. Opinions in Athens were mixed about what's going to happen after voters rejected the terms of a bailout over the weekend. We committed suicide, this person said. But the Greek people made their choice and they deserve what they get. I think it shows that we can't take it anymore, this woman said. We needed to get it off our chests. Tsipras will now present a proposal for a new deal to EU ministers. Whether they manage to find common ground remains to be seen. European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker spoke to the European Parliament ahead of the summit. (SOUNDBITE) (German) EUROPEAN COMMISSION PRESIDENT, JEAN-CLAUDE JUNCKER, SAYING: "The ball lies in the court of the Greek government and the Greek government must explain in Brussels today, how it sees us extricating ourselves from this situation. The President of the European Commission and the European Commission are ready to do whatever's necessary within a reasonable time frame to reach an agreement." In Athens, lines began forming early in the day at ATM machines. Emergency support from the European Central Bank is keeping the banks afloat, but the life lines are close to running out.
