Back in May, John Kasich was weighing his options. But now he's made up his mind. The Ohio Republican Governor wants to be president. Kasich says he's raised enough money to compete against the 15 other announced candidates in the crowded Republican field. His advisers say Kasich will aim to seem less scripted than his Republican rivals, capitalizing on his conservative voting record and long experience as a congressman in Washington. As governor of Ohio, Kasich leads an important electoral swing state with 18 electoral votes. Eight of America's 44 presidents have been from Ohio. Kasich aims to be its ninth.
