Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has spoken for the first time about his country's third bailout deal, potentially worth up to 86 billion euros. Greece expects the deal to be approved by August 20, when a 3.2 billion euro payment to the ECB is due. It needs to be passed by Greece's parliament on Thursday night and then by euro zone finance ministers on Friday. He didn't say who was trying to scupper the deal. So I think there is now political will to try and find a solution that moves beyond the immediate needs of Greece." Negotiations have been under way for months, but EU sources say the mood changed when Euclid Tsakalotos replaced Yanis Varoufakis as finance minister early last month.
