They had hoped to make a new life in Germany...more than 80 Albanians returning home after being denied asylum. They were told they had to leave to make room for those coming from war-ravaged countries like Syria -- And that people from the Balkans aren't eligible for asylum. Some deportees at Tirana's Mother Teresa Airport appeared angry. Others accepted their fate. (SOUNDBITE) (Albanian) ALBANIAN WOMAN DEPORTED FROM GERMANY, MARJETA YMERI, SAYING: "We went to Germany because of our economic troubles. I cannot say bad words about German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the Germans gave us food to eat, respected us and gave us shelter." More than 37,000 Albanians have sought asylum in Germany this year, but are slowly being returned... ...as tens of thousands fleeing conflict zones seek sanctuary in Western Europe. At least half a dozen more flights carrying Albanian deportees are scheduled for September.
