It's been a tight election campaign in Greece. But on Friday, days before voters go to the polls, Alexis Tsipras' leftist Syriza party appeared to surge ahead... Leading in six polls over Conservative rival, New Democracy. At a final rally, the former prime minister said he now feels victory is in reach. (SOUNDBITE) (Greek) FORMER GREEK PRIME MINISTER AND SYRIZA PARTY LEADER, ALEXIS TSIPRAS, SAYING: "I may have had my doubts but seeing you all here today, feeling the vibe, your presence, this huge crowd with so much passion, there are no more doubts. The die has been cast. Victory is certain. The only question is by how large of a margin." The vote is seen as a crucial one, not just in Greece -- which was almost ejected from the euro zone earlier this year. The winner will need to oversee deep economic reforms, part of an 86 billion euro bailout deal. Some of Tsipras' supporters say he deserves a second chance. (SOUNDBITE) (Greek) SYRIZA SUPPORTER, NIKOS, SAYING: "He never got a chance when for six months he was under pressure by the Europeans. It was really hard, so let's give him a second chance to show us what he can do." Whoever wins, neither party is expected to win an outright majority -- setting the stage for coalition talks once the vote is over.
