No more waiting in line for your latte. Starbucks is rolling out its mobile ordering across the United States to everyone through its app. It had been testing the service in Portland, Oregon and other markets. The change comes about three months ahead of schedule. The mobile app automatically finds the closest location to users, and estimates when the order will be ready. Starbucks says this will generally be about 5-10 minutes. Customers pay ahead of times so they don't have to wait in line when they get to the store. Adam Brotman, Starbucks chief digital officer saying: "The fact that it also represents the fastest technology application rollout we have ever done is indicative of the strength of our digital ecosystem, how well it has been received by both our customers and store partners and the impact we think it can have on the future of retail." Starbucks hopes the technology will appeal to customers who are turned off by long lines and significant wait times.
