Rain or shine, the march never ends in Europe. Here in Croatia, more than 500 migrants crossed the border on Saturday. So far, more than 60,000 took the same path from Serbia this week. Among those on the move... Syrian refugee Mohammad al-Imam, a former professional basketball player from Aleppo, and his family. (SOUNDBITE) (English) SYRIAN REFUGEE, MOHAMMAD AL-IMAM, SAYING: "Every day, every night the bomb is close to my neighbourhood and everything is terrible because we don't have electricity, we don't have water, we don't have gas, we don't have petrol. We don't have anything. We don't have education, we don't have doctors in our country, we don't have anything in Aleppo city, because of that I decided to leave." Like thousands of others, al-Imam came via the Aegean Sea. And as conditions worsen, fewer people are expected to make the journey as winter approaches. (SOUNDBITE) (English) SYRIAN REFUGEE, MOHAMMAD AL-IMAM, SAYING: "It's difficult because the weather is now, hard and very very difficult. The sea is very strong." But it's a journey that many of these people are willing to take, one step at a time... to leave war and poverty behind.
