Renowned for these energetic pop performances in his native Japan, even as he kicked off his European tour in London, Miyavi is still best known globally for his debut acting role in Angelina Jolie's 'Unbroken'. Playing a psychotic prision guard in your first Hollywood part could get you typecast -- but the star says he' be happy to try his hand at being a Bond villain. SOUNDBITE, Miyavi, saying (English): "Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah! I enjoyed to hear that people hated me in the film ('Unbroken'). That's a compliment." Known as the Samurai guitarist for his unusual slapping style without using a pick, the 34-year-old plays live with just a drum accompaniment. SOUNDBITE, Miyavi, saying (English): "Only two people on stage, it's simpler and (more) solid. You know it's a really kind of intense performance, so, more freedom and a low budget!" His new studio album 'The Others' was produced by Grammy-winning producers Drew and Shannon, and saw him travel to Nashville where he wrote and recorded - and visited the famous RCA Victor Studio B. SOUNDBITE, Miyavi, saying (English): "I feel the vibes -- to me that's a spiritual spot. Every time I go to Nashville, I always pray, in just the normal streets, cars passing by. I look like a kind of weird strange Asian guy praying on the street, but for me I felt the vibes." His tour continues throughout continental Europe and Russia, closing with a concert in Helsinki on October 16.
