Volunteers from several countries are giving up their time to help the migrants entering Croatia from Serbia at this crossing point. More than 60 Czechs, Britons and Germans are handing out food, drinks and clothing. (SOUNDBITE)(English) FRIEDA, VOLUNTEER FROM GERMANY, SAYING: "Most of the people who are arriving are quite exhausted by the long journey and waiting. They have really long waiting times but there's also a great thankfulness and people are happy to receive some warm food and some clothes for their children" There are similar scenes at the main train station in Vienna. On Sunday about 200 volunteers were helping to care for up to 3, 000 migrants. Some of the recipients of the food and other supplies they're handing out say it means a lot. (SOUNDBITE)(Englsih) TWANA, MIGRANT FROM IRAQ, SAYING: "Good people, they are helping us. They give us food and clothes. They take us to places to sleep. It's very good, we like it." This is what the Syrian city of Aleppo looks like now. The conflict has killed thousands and forced millions from their homes. Bdoor is one of those who've stayed to help those in need. (SOUNDBITE)(Arabic) BDOOR, ALEPPO RESIDENT, SAYING: "Part of my job is to distribute money to the orphaned children, and I also archive the paperwork, as well as educating the wives of the many martyrs and the orphans' relatives." Thousands of kilometres away in Belgium demonstrators took to the streets of Brussels to show their support for the migrants now on the move. More than 430, 000 have crossed the Mediterranean to Europe this year, more than double the figure for the whole of 2014, according to the International Organisation for Migration.
