ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Pop princess Katy Perry brought Rock in Rio to a fluorescent, high-energy finale on Sunday (September 28), the seventh day of the festival's 30-year anniversary edition which debuted back in 1985. The Grammy-nominated pop diva took a night off from the South American leg of her Prismatic World Tour, which has taken her through Europe, North America and Australia, also performing at the Super Bowl in February this year. She told her 75.8 million followers on Twitter that she was possessed by the supermoon rising above the city on Sunday night, and the 100,000 people in the audience giving her life. The show began with an explosion of smoke streams billowing out from the front of the stage, before Perry marched forwards punching the air in a silver, holographic crop top and skater skirt, later teaming up with her troupe of futuristic Aztec-warrior-inspired dancers. The Sunset Stage brought a more mellow sound to the final night as the Norwegian band A-Ha, performed 80s hits, "Take on Me" and "Crying in the Rain", inciting the crowd to join them in a mass air-guitar movement. Sunday marked the seventh night of two weekends packed with world-famous musicians delighting audiences with everything from pop to heavy metal and light rock.
