ROUGH CUT (no reporter narration) STORY: Though he's the center of a political mystery over whether or not he will run for president, Vice President Joe Biden joked about taking a demotion on Wednesday. Speaking at a gathering of organized labor leaders, Biden said the U.S. economic outlook was positive, and called upon labor leaders to fight for workers' benefits. "That's why we need organized labor. That's why we need more collective bargaining. That's why we need more protection for workers' rights. Because it's coming - this resurgence. The question is, it shouldn't all be, figuratively speaking, median income workers of the middle wage - even if it's a good minimum wage. So, we're counting on you. We need your help. We need your suggestions. We need your muscle. We need to move, and if I don't move, I'll be demoted to Secretary of State or something like that. That's a joke. That's a joke. That's a joke." Biden's remarks came during a meeting of the Work Voice Summit in Washington, D.C.
