A stream of migrants, as far as the eye can see - they've crossed over from Croatia and into Slovenia on foot. After Hungary shut its borders, the flow of migrants has been diverted westwards towards Slovenia - making the journey to Western Europe even longer for these exhausted travelers, many of whom are fleeing war and civil strife in their own countries. Officials say almost 20,000 migrants have entered this tiny country, since the weekend, when Hungary sealed its southern border with Croatia. Overwhelmed by the endless influx, Slovenia has deployed its army to guard the border and, much like Hungary, is considering the option of building a barrier. Slovenia has also asked the European Union to send additional police forces to its border with Croatia---where an increasing backlog of migrants is held up --as Slovenian officials attempt to control the sheer numbers crossing its borders every day.
