Sheer exhaustion. Children and their families spend another day along the muddy border between Serbia and Croatia. Cold, hungry, some without shoes, migrants here are awaiting word on where they will be allowed to go next. With some Balkan countries closing their borders and others imposing limits on how many people can come in, a backlog is forming. (SOUNDBITE) (English) UNHCR CO-ORDINATOR, NIKLAS STOERUP AGERUP, SAYING: "But of course with what happened, Hungary closing the border with Croatia, and then some how do you say, constraints about numbers, has led to this place becoming more of a bottleneck as we call it. So, meaning that people are stranded here, because it is a limited number of people who are allowed in, and that is something new and its to do with the closure of borders elsewhere." Already having travelled a long journey from Syria or elsewhere in the Middle East thousands of new migrants are arriving daily, but aren't being allowed to continue to Germany or other EU countries. Frustrations are rising. Scuffles break out after waiting for hours in the cold. Some try to keep their sense of humour. (SOUNDBITE) (English) MIGRANTS FROM SYRIAN CAPITAL DAMASCUS, SINAN HAMUD, SAYING: "But you know its a big problem here, about 6 thousand people, its not your fault, its our fault, we are bad people." The EU has agreed to share 120,000 migrants among its members.... a small portion of the some 700,000 expected to reach Europe's borders this year.
