Iconic rock band Queen receive 'Living Legend' award at Classic Rock Roll of Honour in London as Bohemian Rhapsody celebrates 40 years. Jane Witherspoon reports.

Forty years after their smash hit "Bohemian Rhapsody" was released, British rock band Queen have been honoured with the Living Legends award at the Classic Rock awards. Guitarist Brian May collected the award on behalf of the band, which still perform together after frontman Mercury died in 1991. SOUNDBITE Queen guitar, Brian May, saying (English): "It makes you wonder why we're still here for some reason. It's amazing where the time went. Yeah everyone's talking about Bohemian Rhapsody which is nice. I think Freddy would be very proud and we are too." He celebrated with some of the most respected musicians in rock. SOUNDBITE (English) Led Zeppelin guitarist, Jimmy Page, saying (English: "They're superb. I mean their work has been extraordinary and you know their work it sort of comes a little later than when we started off but in the same way it touched people's lives like our music too." Queen announced this week they will headline next year's Isle of Wight Festival with singer Adam Lambert. SOUNDBITE Queen guitar, Brian May, saying (English): "It's something we used to talk about in the old days but we never did festivals in the old days so it's going to be nice." Other winners at Wednesday's awards included Alice Cooper who took the Classic Album award for "Welcome To My Nightmare" and Europe who won Best Comeback.
