ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) A same-sex couple in Utah said on Wednesday (November 11) that a judge has ordered a foster child removed from their home because they're gay. April Hoagland and Beckie Peirce of Carbon County, Utah are legally married and have two older children. They were approved as foster parents earlier this year by the Utah Department of Child and Family Services. But judge, Scott Johansen has ordered the three-month-old baby removed and placed with a heterosexual couple instead. According to Hoagland, the judge said his research showed that children do better in heterosexual homes than same-sex homes, but that he refused to show the research. A spokesman for the Utah DFCS said they are now studying the order.
