SUBTITLED ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras met Israeli President Reuven Rivlin in Jerusalem on the second day of a two-day visit to the region on Thursday (November 26). Tsipras' trip to the country aims to strengthen bilateral ties. "We are very happy to be here in Israel, this is a unique opportunity for us to have discussions with you, with the Israeli leadership", Tsipras said during his meeting with Rivlin. Rivlin said: "you are an example of how one who is chosen as a leader can bridge the gap and the conflicts that exist in a democracy." Tsipras, on his first visit to the region since coming to power in January, laid a wreath at Jerusalem's Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial and met with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday (November 25). According to media reports, Tsipras will opt to broaden energy, tourism and technology cooperation as well as propose a trilateral summit between Greece, Cyprus and Israel. Tsipras is scheduled to travel to the West Bank city of Ramallah to meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. He will later meet the Greek Patriarch in Jerusalem to conclude his trip.
