This was the second attack on Bangladesh's Shia Muslims in a month. Witnesses said three gunmen burst into this mosque in Bogra and unleashed a hail of bullets as worshippers were praying. At least one person's been killed, three more were wounded. It's the latest incident in a wave of attacks in Muslim-majority Bangladesh which has seen a surge in Islamist violence. Two foreigners, four secular writers and a publisher have been killed this year. An Italian doctor working as a missionary's been wounded and several Christian priests have received death threats. In October a bomb at a Shi'ite shrine in Dhaka killed one person and wounded dozens. The government's dismissing Islamic State's claim of responsibility for that and other attacks, blaming instead the home-grown militant Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen group. Critics say the government's whipping up a climate of fear to go after its political rivals.
