Clashes on the streets with at least seven people killed, as PKK supporters battle security forces in Turkey's mainly Kurdish southeast. Curfews have now been declared across the restive region. The clashes are the latest in months of violence following the collapse of a ceasefire between the government and the Kurdistan Workers Party, or PKK, in July. The PKK launched its insurgency in 1984. More than 40,000 people have been killed in the conflict. The group is designated as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and European Union.
